for active scouts

The Aurora Medical Team, Explorer Post 525, maintains a list of Boy Scouts who have an interest in first aid, emergency medicine, or helping out on community support functions. These scouts are eligible to be part of the Aurora Medical Team Reserve (AMT-R). We attend multiple Camporees and Klondikes a year, as well as provide first aid for other scouting outdoor functions. Any active scout or scout leader is welcome to participate in our reserve program.
Participating with AMT on scout functions counts for your unit's service hours.
Scout leaders can have scouts participate in this program to get experience and training for their first aid merit badge and their emergency prep merit badge.
The program is simple. AMT will notify reserve members by email of upcoming events that are open to reserve members. If the participant wants to attend they get the permission form signed by their folks and deploy with AMT.
This program was designed to let interested scouts help out on scouting functions with first aid without having to be a full fledged AMT member.
There are no dues to be a reserve member. AMT-R participants do not wear the AMT uniform. AMT-R scouts do not join the Exploring/Learning for Life Program. They attend activities as active scouts, under scout policy, and wearing the scout uniform. They do so with the concurrence of their troop.
A permission form is required, download from www.auroramedteam.org/files/amtrperm.doc.
For questions about the program you can email AMT at amt@auroramedteam.org. AMT-R youth must be active scouts to attend our activities with the reserve program.
To place yourself on the AMT-R mailing list please
get a copy of the
application form, from www.auroramedteam.org/files/amtrapp.doc.
Once we receive your
form we will send emails of upcoming opportunities. Please contact us if
you have questions on this program.
